The Academy of Celebrancy Australia® is pleased to
announce a comprehensive, easy to
follow, accredited course to help you on
your way to perform funerals directly
from the Certificate IV in Funeral
Services qualification. Today's
celebrant is becoming all inclusive. As
time goes on, ceremony, ritual and human
interaction changes. A funeral ceremony
is a very special ceremony that
celebrates a life, rather than mourns a
death. The Academy of Celebrancy Australia® boasts
some of the best celebrant experience in
the industry. This course follows the
best practices of our resident Funeral
Celebrant, Mr. Carlton Daniells with
over 15 years experience as a Funeral
Celebrant and over 18 years experience
as a Funeral Director.
Your first contact regarding Funeral
Celebrancy may be with a Funeral
Director. Other names that mean the same
as ‘Funeral Director’ are ‘Undertaker’
and ‘Mortician’. The function of Funeral
Directors is to manage Funerals and
prepare the dead for burial or
cremation. Funeral Directors have an
important working relationship with you
because of their involvement and
expertise in organising Funerals.
This course requires access to a video
camera to record your practical
assignment. It also requires you to
visit a Funeral home. Your trainer will
guide you through the course and you
will have local email/fax/phone/mail
support. Upon successful completion of
this course, you will be provided with a
nationally recognised Statement of
Attainment for 'WFSFNL407A – Perform
General Funeral Celebrancy’. Funeral
celebrants often work in conjunction
with Funeral Directors. Your Statement
of Attainment is proof to Funeral
Directors that you are competent to
perform Funeral Celebrancy.
In addition to attaining the skills
necessary to perform general Funeral
Celebrancy, completion of this Academy
of Celebrancy Australia® program also
prepares you to perform Memorial
Celebrancy, and also covers Pet
Funerals.
Below is a basic summary of some of the
topics covered throughout the course.
• Liaising with Funeral Directing
personnel, family and friends.
• Accurate interpretation of verbal and
written information and instructions.
• Meeting the rituals and ceremonial
requirements of the family.
• Fluent delivery of a basic Funeral
Ceremony using public speaking skills.
• Demonstration of creative initiative.
• The ability to improvise and problem
solve with limited resources.
• Correct interpretation of and
adherence to required protocols.
• Adherence to professional dress
standards.
On completion of this course, and in
conjunction with the Academy of
Celebrancy's 'Grief and Trauma' modules,
you will be awarded with an Academy of
Celebrancy 'Diploma in Funeral
Celebrancy'.
