If you are considering a vocation in funeral celebrancy - and wish to become a recognised expert in this field, you must know how to deal with and manage grief and trauma. This course sets out the essential knowledge that every Funeral celebrant must know. This course is written by celebrants for celebrants
and these 2 nationally accredited units come directly from the Certificate IV in Funeral Services qualification, and customised for the celebrancy profession.

Grief is how we feel internally after a loss. Grief is a type of healing that people do, it is an individual journey that people embark on, and it does not end on a certain day or date. Grief is a reflection of the connection a person has for another life, it is the pain, heartache and intense sorrow felt for the loss of a life.

Grief is a process people take to work through feelings. Initially a person may be overcome with shock and confusion, or feel guilty the situation may feel like a bad dream. Individuals may feel they can only look to the minute ahead of them and take each day as it comes, others may go into denial.

Trauma is a sudden shock or deeply disturbing experience whether physical or psychological following a stressful event. Trauma can cause profound feelings of fear, anger and devastation.

Traumatic events are exceptional situations of helplessness and distress experienced first hand, witnessed or heard about, these trauma’s jeopardise the integrity of an individual and those closest physically and/or psychological systems.

In great detail, these units are specifically written to guide the Funeral Celebrant to be able to:

  • Deal with Grief and Trauma

  • Interact with Grieving Clients

  • Provide Support for Colleagues in Grief Situations

  • Deal with personal grief

  • Manage Grief and Trauma Issues

  • Identify Grief Care Services and Resources

  • Oversee the Provisions of Grief Care Advice

Furthermore, all students receive detailed information relating grief and trauma specifically to funeral celebrancy, and how it affects your role as a funeral celebrant.

This course combined with the Academy of Celebrancy's 'WFSFNL407A' comprehensive course gives every aspiring and practicing funeral celebrant the tools, motivation and knowledge to be successful in the industry.

On completion of this course, and in conjunction with the Academy of Celebrancy's 'WFSFNL407A' course, you will be awarded with an Academy of Celebrancy 'Diploma in Funeral Celebrancy'.
