Module: Certificate IV in Celebrancy
Code: CHC42608
For: Aspiring marriage celebrants
Accredited Qualification: Nationally recognised qualification.
Availability: Australia-wide
Delivery & Assessment: Self-paced distance OR face-to-face blended learning.

Students completing the course via the three day face to face blended learning option are still required to complete some assessments at home after their three day face to face class. This class will however complete your practical components.

If completing the course via distance, the practical assessments are required to be videoed and submitted to their trainer for assessment. Students who do not have their own video equipment are advised to consider the costs associated with hiring video equipment before enrolling in the distance course.

Students have up to 7 months to complete the course. This 7 months starts from the date of enrolment for distance courses, or the date of your first face to face class. After this time you can apply for a three month extension for $129, this extension applies from the date your course expires, should you let this lapse there is an additional $50 fee for each month your course has been expired for.
If a course is left for longer than six months then
the student is required to pay a re-enrolment fee of $290 plus the $129 three month extension fee.

Should a student wish to upgrade their course from distance to a face to face class, then a fee of $660 will be required.

The minimum age to be registered as a celebrant is 18yrs.

Students will be assessed according to Competency Based Assessment.

Competency Based Training is aimed at developing specific learning outcomes that reflect the standardised workplace competencies of a given Industry skill area.Competency Based Assessment is the manner by which competency is recognised as being attained. It determines if an individual’s workplace performance matches the workplace standard for competency. Competency based marks are either competent (C) or not yet competent (NYC).

Students have the right to access their own student records and records of course progress and participation. Students are required to contact head office for procedures for accessing information.

Outcome: Developed by a celebrant with more than 16 years of experience, this module ensures you possess all the mandatory prerequisites to gain official registration as marriage celebrant by the Commonwealth Attorney General.

Once you have received your certificate from the Academy of Celebrancy, you will need this to form part of your application with the Attorney Generals Department for Registration.

A Statement of Attainment will be issued for units completed on early withdrawal form the course at no additional cost to the student. Completion of the entire course will result in the issuance of a Nationally Recognised Qualification. 

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) is available on request. It means the comparison of the previous learning and experience of a learner (based on evidence from that learner's work and life experiences, or previous training received) against the learning outcomes required for a specific qualification.
Applying for an RPL means you are providing current evidence which will demonstrate that you are competent in all of the criteria required of that particular unit.
